Don Bear was formed some years ago by two friends from a previous life, sharing a love of atmosphere and tunes. They started with the aim of making their own instruments and composing music with them. After two hours of further consideration this plan was abandoned and they played guitars instead.
Performances have been few, and success slight. Time is spent writing, recording and laughing, which has resulted in an album being completed in late 2009. Tiny Plants features Don Bear's more organic sound, recorded using guitars, bass, drums and other objects then reconstructed on a PC.
Recently the band have moved toward a sparse stripped down sound, with more piano and less rock. This is best described as being similar to deciding that laces are better than velcro for securing your trainers.
